Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Classes

" Every day my arms and legs get
stronger and my stamina is increasing.
My knees do not hurt as much, and now I
can get up from a chair, usually at the
first try! An interesting
side-effect is that I have started
enjoying exercise. I used to avoid
exercising and would find an excuse not
to do it. Now I look forward to my
sessions in the pool with you. I don’t think
in terms of “how much longer do I have
to do this”! I have decided that I
will exercise for the rest of my life.

Arthritis Classes take place in the pool
on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We
have back-to-back classes on these days-
one at 10:00am and another at
11:00am.The 11:00am class is currently
full. Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a warmwater (84-88 degrees) water-based exercise program tailor-made for people with arthritis. This program incorporates gentle activities in a friendly and supportive atmosphere in which people make new friends and try new activities. This Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is proven to decrease pain and depression and improve functional ability, range of motion, muscle strength and aerobic fitness in participants. Our Arthritis Classes are in accordance to Arthritis Foundation standards. Because of this, there is a limit on class size requiring each member to enroll in these classes. Class attendance is reported to the Arthritis Foundation Georgia Chapter. If you are ready to put an end to the cycle, give us a call at (478)333-6777! |

"Coming to
the Cantrell Center has been the best
decision I have ever made as far as my health is concerned. I have been attending the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program for 9 months... The class not only helps you physically, but mentally as well, getting to meet others who have similar problems gives you encouragement to keep going. You just feel better."
