On Friday, October 27, 2017, the Cantrell Center had the opportunity to take part in the Better Business Bureau Senior Expo, presented by Serenity Hospice Care. Donna and I saw a few of our wellness members in the audience. The Expo took place at Central Georgia Technical College and if you weren’t there, be on the lookout for next year’s event.
The event was free and there were many booths with information of interest for seniors and senior caregivers. There were 22 Organizations participating. Exhibitors included services from the healthcare community, retirement and assisted living community, consumer products too. Free items were given away and drawings were held for prizes during the event.
Our very own Wellness Instructor, Donna Tant, led the a packed crowd in a short exercise class right in their chairs. My father, Stavros Andris (age 87) assisted Donna on Stage to showing that exercise helps retain independence and is fun!!! By the end, everyone was smiling, laughing and couldn’t believe the workout they were able to get right in their chairs.
One lucky senior won the Cantrell Center drawing for a 3 monthWellness Center membership including a One-on-One consultation by one of our expert trainers with full access to the pool and aquatic exercise programs as well as land based exercise programs.
Many thanks to the Better Business Bureau and Serenity Hospice for hosting this great event.
